✨ Gild Updates

We kicked things off with our AI Forum in Miami, bringing together around 20 tech and AI leaders for another great evening of conversations and connections. We're wrapping up the month with our Austin dinner during Austin Tech Week, with Tecla and Aspire Systems joining us as partners!

We also have a new GILD podcast episode coming soon, featuring Kurt Shriner, Senior Technical Product Manager at Amazon, working across its global Whole Foods Market organization. We're excited to share this one! Behind the scenes, we've been working on new partnerships and getting ready for our next two dinners in Frisco (November 3) and New York City (November 10).

Lots happening across different cities, and it's exciting to see the GILD network continue to grow!

😊 Personal Milestones

Emily’s: October was whirlwind for me! I started the month in Germany visiting my brother. He recently moved to a new flat, so we went into "Bob The Builder" mode and started drilling walls, hanging shelfs, installing ceiling lights, and more. His new home is beautiful!

We then escaped the German cold with a quick trip to Mallorca. If you ever get the chance, visit Mallorca!! We loved it! Blue-water beaches, sun, yummy food. 10/10!!

Then, I came back to Lima, and attended two weddings! The one in the picture was taken at the wedding of a friend I've known since kindergarten!! It's crazy how we went from school plays, to quinceañeros, to prom, to now her wedding.

Finally, the Nikkei community in Lima has been celebrating the 120th anniversary of Okinawan immigration to Peru. Several events were held, and important representatives from Okinawa Prefecture traveled to Lima to take part in the festivities. In the picture, I'm with the Mayor of Urasoe City, Tetsuji Matsumoto. Urasoe is a city in Okinawa where my family roots originate, and it's also the city that hosted me for a cultural training program back in 2019.

It's been a busy month but one of my favorites so far! 😊

Sofi’s: I had the amazing opportunity to participate in Empowering People in the Workplace (EPW) with the Positive Discipline Association and its partners in Medellín, Colombia "Firmeza y Afecto".

Three days filled with inspiring conversations about how Positive Discipline can transform the way we lead, listen, communicate, and connect with others in the workplace.

I'm beyond excited to share that I'm now a Certified Positive Discipline Facilitator in Organizations! 🌟 This experience sparked an even greater passion for creating more human, respectful workplaces, and I can't wait to keep learning and putting everything into practice in my everyday work at Tecla!

So happy and grateful for this experience! 💜✨

Den’s: This month, my boyfriend and I took advantage of the long weekend and went to the Argentine coast! 🌊 We walked sooo much, disconnected from everything, enjoyed nature, and had some delicious churros and alfajores de maicena! 🎉 🫶

Majis’: I took a little solo trip to Madrid this weekend to disconnect, and I loved it! I got to see one of my favorite bands live, catch up with friends, enjoy a bocadillo de calamar, and spend an afternoon reading at Retiro Park 🍂🍁. The autumn weather was lovely too!
